Ubuntu or Windows 7. I've been using Windows my whole life but my professor showed me Ubuntu and I think it's pretty cool.

I like how you skipped "Windows 8/8.1". In my views, It was simply a failed OS.

I also like the Windows platform and agree that Windows 7 and Windows 10 are a good choice.

OpenSUSE, but I normally use Antergos base, as Arch has more support then OpenSUSE (I have had many tools that aren't available for OpenSUSE).

This Is one of many things that annoyed me too.

Just for future reference, you can Install  .NET Framework 3.5 by navigating to "Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows features on or off", select It and hit OK.

The above Image Is on my Windows 10 system, but It's very similar on Windows 8. This will Install It via Windows Updates, so you must have the updates enabled.

You're always welcome. It Is very simple via disc. I'm glad It all worked out for you.

The method I mentioned above Is pretty good too, however If you happen to lose connectivity (Internet) during the Installation process, It can be a pain to get It going again. Offline Is always the best option.
