Currently for me it's Windows 8, but also have Mint Linux, Windows 7, Vista, XP and MAC.

Windows 8 both on my Desktop and Laptop.
and no it's not prone to viruses, since it has inbuilt security, although it's not enough but you can you your own.
Actually, i never wanted to upgrade because i can;t play some games like Amazing Spiderman, but had to upgrade for Windows 8 software development (yea VMware was an option, but no worries, windows 8 is also great).

Personally I wouldnt upload as "YES" you are more prone to viruses although microsoft said they worked hard to enhance the operating system`s security side.
Im running windows 7 and have done since it came out, I think its the more reliable of operating systems

I have found that just an ounce of common sense will save you more often than an AV/scanner will. As always, issues with the operating system will be fixed over time (like they were for Windows 7).
