MAL vs Kitsu vs whatever else you use - Blink - 12-18-2017

I need something to keep track of all the stuff I've watched, which do you prefer?

MAL is an obvious option, but now everyone seems to be using Kitsu, which is also more developer friendly. (I don't know why I would need this though, maybe I can make an app for it to run on calculators with GlobalCalcNet...)
The Kitsu site also looks nicer, and doesn't have ads or big signs asking for donations (hey Wikipedia, I donated already, now shut up)

MAL has a huge userbase, which means that ratings would be more accurate, so it should be better for finding new things to watch.

What do you use, and why?

I only use kitsu.io as I used hummingbird.me (aka what it was, before) - kinda gutted. Still use kitsu.io. However, my kitsu is still kinda out of date. Main reason is due to lack of being able to remember Japanese (written in roman letting) naming of shows (having known the roman written version of Japanese - not English- titles - so now some show names are lost on my records until I run into them again)

By roman numeral do you mean kanji?

Roman lettering aka romanji aka the English alphabet.

I use MAL and I'm happy with it. You can add a whole bunch of tools like Taiga, MALgraphs, and all that jazz. Not really sure what Kitsu offers in that department. From my short time with Kitsu I noticed that the MAL info pages are a bit better as well, but that's up for debate I guess.

They also have a lot of tools, since they apparently have a good API or something.

CC sent me this a few minutes ago: https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1613430

MAL seems like the better option now although I don't care much about the forum side of it (SL forever!)

MAL just since it's OG, simple and has huge db was a fan of kitsu but not that active compared to MAL

RE: MAL vs Kitsu vs whatever else you use - Blink - 12-18-2017

Alright, I've made a MAL account.

My list isn't done yet, but here it is: https://myanimelist.net/animelist/__Ender?order=4&status=2

I stopped using MAL, as I prefer Kitsu. I haven't really done a good job of keeping either updated.
