Trump pardons former Sheriff Joe Arpaio - Inori - 08-28-2017 Amidst plenty of other domestic and international crises, US President Donald Trump pardoned former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who was incarcerated not even a month prior for decades of excessive force and blatant disregard for public safety. In one of many examples of his cruelty, in a botched SWAT raid, Arpaio's deputies torched a house and chased the occupants' 10-month-old puppy back into the flames, laughing at it's demise: http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/news/dog-day-afternoon-6438729 The Phoenix New Times posted an extensive thread on Twitter detailing all the batshit insane things Arpaio got away with, and he's free yet again. https://twitter.com/phoenixnewtimes/status/901263384087334914 RE: Trump pardons former Sheriff Joe Arpaio - mothered - 08-29-2017 I'm disgusted at this: Quote:Deputies then reportedly laughed as the dog's owners came unglued as it perished in the blaze. The punishment should fit the crime. RE: Trump pardons former Sheriff Joe Arpaio - Nil - 08-29-2017 Really mind boggled about this. I would love to hear a press conference where Trump explains the reasoning behind this. Arpaio is literally everything you don't want to see in a person. He already tried to defend his actions after receiving bipartisan criticism: Quote:He’s done a great job for the people of Arizona. He’s very strong on borders, very strong on illegal immigration. He is loved in Arizona. I thought he was treated unbelievably unfairly when they came down with their big decision to go get him right before the election voting started ... When I mentioned him the other night [in Phoenix], you saw the massive crowd we had, people went crazy when I said, ‘What do you think of Sheriff Joe?’ or something to that effect.https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/aug/28/donald-trump-defends-joe-arpaio-pardon-patriot RE: Trump pardons former Sheriff Joe Arpaio - Oni - 08-29-2017 Another interesting article: http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/news/prisoners-hang-themselves-in-sheriff-joe-arpaios-jails-at-a-rate-that-dwarfs-other-county-lockups-7845679 RE: Trump pardons former Sheriff Joe Arpaio - Esoterith - 08-29-2017 I lived in his jurisdiction. He made living here a literal hell for everyone. I often try to avoid being belligerent and hostile, but this man is someone I really wouldn't mind getting shot. The group of racists in Arizona who loved how he illegally operated? Because I know anyone who had their head on straight hated every second of him in charge there. Horrible reasoning. Horrible person. Only hope is that Arpaio gets dozens of civil suits thrown at his ass. RE: Trump pardons former Sheriff Joe Arpaio - Shin - 08-29-2017 Really descriptive, and there's more interesting articles. Also pretty interesting on how he operated. RE: Trump pardons former Sheriff Joe Arpaio - Kurt - 08-29-2017 trump custy lol :o Idk man can't wait to see what is infront of us for these upcoming years |
