Kodi- A free and open-source media player software application - IJIF - 07-11-2017 I recommend everyone to install Kodi. I use this program to watch free movies/tv shows and it just works great. Everything streams in HD depending on the streams source. The only thing you have to do is install add ons such as Exodus. Here is the link, enjoy guys! https://kodi.tv/ RE: Kodi- A free and open-source media player software application - mothered - 07-11-2017 I don't watch movies but If this does serve It's purpose well, I'll forward It to a friend. Add-ons aside, Is the Installation process quick and simple with very little user-Intervention? It probably depends on the OS. It's great for usage on an Amazon FireTV stick. Yes it is, I've installed it on my RaspberryPi in 20 minutes, I'm sure you can do it faster with a better internet connection. The process was as simple as: Code: apt-get install kodiRE: Kodi- A free and open-source media player software application - IJIF - 07-11-2017 (07-11-2017, 09:46 AM)Pikami Wrote:(07-11-2017, 06:13 AM)mothered Wrote: Is the Installation process quick and simple with very little user-Intervention? As @Pikami said , the install can be really fast depending on your internet connection. I have mine installed on my family's MacBook so depending on the os, you will get different results. Once the file has already been downloaded and executed, I was more so referring to the "Installation" process thereafter. I'm basing this on the Windows platform. Thank you both for your feedback, It's given me a general Idea of what's Involved. I've downloaded the file (80MB) for Windows and shall try It later tonight. Please report back on how it goes. BTW my post answered your question acuretly, it only took me that one command to install it, no config, set up needed, works straight after aptitude package manager installs it. There are shit load of configs you can edit, but for me it worked without any configuration. And yes, your post Is of big help. Although In a different context (Linux-related), It definitely answered my question. Let us know how it goes. If you have any questions ask @Pikami for the Linux related download , he seems knowledgeable about the Linux installation. Follow the steps to get the Exodus add on The first thing you need to do after launching Kodi Krypton is click on the Settings Icon in the top left corner. Then, go to System Settings -> Expert Mode -> Addons. Make sure to turn on ‘Unknown Sources.’ Otherwise, you will not be able to install third-party add-ons. When the warning box pops up, click ‘Yes’. Now go back to the Kodi homescreen, and click on the ‘Settings’ icon. From here, go to File Manager -> Add Source. Select None and then enter the following path without the quotes “http://repo.ares-project.com/magic”. Name it ‘Ares’ and click ‘OK’. From the Kodi homescreen, select Addons. Click on the Package Installer Icon at the top left corner. Select ‘Install from Zip File’ -> Ares -> repository.ares -> repository.aresproject.zip. Wait for the ‘Ares Wizard Enabled’ notification box. Now select ‘Install from Repo’ -> ‘Program addons’ -> ‘Ares Wizard’ -> Install. The download and installation process will begin. Now go to ‘My addons’ -> ‘Program Addons’. Choose ‘Ares Wizard’ Now choose ‘Browse Addons’ -> Video Addons -> Exodus -> Install.
