Anonymous claims NASA will announce evidence on alien life - Shinoa - 06-26-2017

Recently Anonymous said that Nasa is on the verge of announcing evidence for the existence of aliens. Sadly, however, their evidence for this claim is lacking. They appear to be using Kepler Space Telescope's recent discovery of a bunch of planets; a statement from Associate Administrator of NASA's Science Mission Directorate, Thomas Zurbuchen from back in april, taken out of context; and some quotes from ex-astronauts and some alien enthusiasts as the evidence for the claim.

I've heard stories like this 20+ years ago (via various sources), and nothing has come of It.

I'll only believe It when hardcore evidence Is revealed. This Is simply hearsay.
Nice article though, thanks.

I haven't quite existed for 20+ year; however, I certainly don't doubt it.

I also have to agree. I've seen lots and lots of people "proving" alien life, and all of them lack good evidence. It seems Anonymous has jumped on the train.

And the question remains, Is this just a publicity stunt by Anonymous to (yet again) glorify their presence In the cyber world?

We'll have to wait and see what eventuates.

This is the one thing I don't like about the idea of an unverifiable anarchist collective. Anyone can release any information under the name "Anonymous", rather fortuately for them, anonymously, and nobody can reliably refute it.

For all we know, this could have been some crackpot conspiracy theorist trying to get his idea some traction online.

This is the one thing I don't like about the idea of an  unverifiable anarchist collective. Anyone can release any information under the name "Anonymous", rather fortuately for them, anonymously, and nobody can reliably refute it.

was thinking the same

I agree 100%.

I've always said that "anyone" can claim to be part of the Anonymous group, thereby take credit for the group's actions. If this claim (Alien life evidence) came from another source, I'd be more Inclined to take It on board.

Yeah yeah. Obama was supposed to dump info before leaving office too.

It probably is a publicity stunt, but there is practically no way that their "fame" will last more than a week or so. Anonymous isn't likely ever gonna recover from the terrible reputation it has.

I wouldn't say "This is the one thing" since there are many issues with an anarchist collective in my opinion; however, I do agree.
Similar to what both you and @mothered said, any "information" coming from an unreliable source that anyone could make up, can't be taken as seriously as well established and reliable sources of information. This claim by Anonymous seems to help prove just that.

Agree.

As opposed to other groups of similar nature, I don't think Anonymous care too much about their reputation. They're a group behind a facade that cannot be attacked on a personal level, thereby can be represented by anyone wearing a mask.
