Aloha everyone - Lokes - 06-22-2017 Hello lovely community <3! I have been here for almost a week now, and I really love it. That's why I think it's about time to introduce myself properly. People here are very engaging and it doesn't feel like some sort of leecher forum. Hopefully, I will be able to contribute some quality content too, to atleast give some happiness back. Mhm.. what's there to say about me.. I am currently working on my master's in mechanical engineering and economics. In short, I am a lazy student. I love gaming and watching animes, which is why I like it here so much, as far as I can tell, there is a very dedicated core to animes, where I might be able to fit in. I play a wide variety of games, as of now, I am currently looking for a great MMORPG to play, even tho the genre is a little bit dead, it was still the genre, I found most fun, since other genres like MOBAs usually have very toxic communities, which I dislike. The toxicity turns me into poison aswell, which is bad. So what games exactly: - Blade and Soul: been having my eyes on this game for a while, it's not a once in a life time hit, but it's certainly good enough for a change of pace, also there is a lot of eye candy x) - League of Legends: oh yes good ol' League. I started at the end of season 2, and I am still playing it from time to time, so if anyone is interested hit me up x) - Heroes of the Storm: more casual MOBA game than league, mostly playing it because it's super chill, but boring from time to time too, especially if you are alone Here and there, I do play some other games too. Indie games are my bread and butter, since some of them are super unique. I joined the discord group aswell, my name there is "vTek". I have lovely 2b (from nier automata) as my avatar, so if needed, you can contact me there too :3!. That's all for now, I am pretty bad with introductions, but I hope this gives you a little insight on what kind of person I am. Thank you for your time and reading this. I really appreciate it! Looking forward to become friends with you all \o/ RE: Aloha everyone - Ecks - 06-22-2017 Well then let me officially welcome you to Sinisterly, I hope that you mind the rules and enjoy your time here, as well as I hope you make some posts on engineering, since you are more than qualified for it. RE: Aloha everyone - Jiggly - 06-22-2017 Nice introduction! I've already seen your posts elsewhere, but I'd like to give you a warm welcome to SL! I'm also doing my masters so *high five* for graduate workload! (...cries inside...) I like that you're interests are similar to mine and many others. Pretty sure some of our members also play those games! For MMORPGs, I was recently playing Black Desert Online, although it's extremely relaxed. It's good if you want to kick back and chill while playing (there's even auto-run to the destination). Oni (forum owner) regularly posts what games he's playing, so maybe you two can hit each other up for some multiplayer. Just a small FYI, we usually require members to have their nickname in the discord set to their forum username. Let us know if you're not sure how to set it for just sinister.ly's channel. We can help. Thanks for sharing, and I hope we see you around
RE: Aloha everyone - Lokes - 06-22-2017 @Ecks Will read the rules asap! May I ask you which "engineering" section you mean? Might aswell take a look there and post some things =) @Jiggly Thank you for taking care of the discord name thing. And again, thank you for the kind welcome. \o/ I'd love to play some multiplayer, thank you for suggesting it! I see, to be honest, I have no practical experience yet, just studying all the theory I guess. Still wondering, how this will turn out, once I graduate. Loving electronical stuff aswell, but more on the consuming-side. I don't mind knowing how it works on the inside tho. But I am still a little bit surprised you picked this as your hobby, since it sounds more work-related than some kind of passion (no offense :c). I have been building robots and odd projects since childhood, went off track and became a mechanic, too old to deal with the physical side of that anymore so trying to get into college for computer science. I was going to go the same route your on now, but programming careers are top pay and are the most in the demand career currently and I can always put my experience to use with that kind of education. Mhm yea, if I had the chance to "reroll" I'd go for computer science too, since my interest align with that more. But economics + mechanical engineering will hopefully get me somewhere. o/ RE: Aloha everyone - mothered - 06-23-2017 Judging by your Introduction, I have no doubt you'll blend In rather well with this community. We've posted back and forth on a number of occasions and your demeanor Is very pleasant. Welcome aboard, see you around the forums. RE: Aloha everyone - Lokes - 06-23-2017 @mothered Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback. It's usually hard to get to know people in a new community, but here, everyone's so nice and welcoming, it feels unreal tbh. I am looking forward seeing you around the forums for more random discussions aswell. Got a dentist appointment already, thanks again :> |
