Passengers (2016) - Inori - 01-07-2017 Since @Aeolian is dying of sleep deprivation and probably delirious, I'm gonna post this review before he gets the chance ![]() Passengers is about two strangers, Jim and Aurora (played by Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence), woken up 90 years too early from suspended animation en route to a colony world to start a new life. It's really, really hard not to spoil anything, but some of the key focuses and plot points (which I won't list to maintain the thrill for the first time you watch it) are incredibly hard to get right in movies, and they were all executed perfectly. I really loved everything about the movie: the designs, the animation and CGI, the characters, the cast (Lawrence Fishburn is in there, too), the story - I could go on. There's pages upon pages of Oscars predictions (speaking of, has anyone seen La La Land? I've heard it's good and I like Emma Stone, but I'm not big on musicals) that put Passengers in very high regard: multiple sites predict it being nominated for both best actress and actor, best director (same guy who did The Imitation Game, which was also fantastic), and even a few for best picture. Seriously, go out and watch this when you've got a few hours. RE: Passengers (2016) - Nil - 01-07-2017 Thanks for sharing. Definitely going to see it, although I don't think there's a single HD copy on the internet ATM. RE: Passengers (2016) - zorrophreak - 01-07-2017 Wow, I've heard about it and it looks absolutely awesome but I didn't know it was so praised. I might go and watch it when I get the time, or you know, online somehow. (01-07-2017, 11:19 PM)God Wrote: Thanks for sharing. I found myself bored through most of it. RE: Passengers (2016) - Inori - 01-08-2017 (01-07-2017, 11:59 PM)Mystique Wrote: I didn't enjoy watching it. I found myself bored through most of it. Interesting; what did you think it lacked to engage you? Maybe it had parts that were very simplistic that might've dissapointed? @Mystique RE: Passengers (2016) - Jiggly - 01-08-2017 I so badly want to see this. I also like Jennifer Lawrence in most of the films she stars in, so that peaked my interest. Unfortunately, I've got nobody to go see it with as Oni isn't really interested. May have to wait for this one to come out on DVD/online in decent quality. |
