Block Cyberghost advertisements + skip the waiting period - skeL - 09-25-2016 Just put the following text in your hosts file (located at C:\ -> Windows -> System32 -> drivers -> etc -> hosts). Every traffic that's being used by the advertising module will be redirected to your localhost which results in no advertisements. Redirecting this also lets the program skip the waiting time that occurs for free customers in the most cases. Code: 127.0.0.1 advertiser.cyberghostvpn.comRE: Block Cyberghost advertisements + skip the waiting period - mothered - 09-25-2016 Just to clarify this, for free users, CyberGhost disconnects every 3 hours and the majority of times there's a waiting period to reconnect (around a couple of minutes or so). When this Is entered Into the Hosts file, you're saying the waiting period will no longer apply? Yeah, I put this into my hosts file in order to block the advertisements but as a side effect the waiting time stopped occurring. The ads don't bother me that much, but If It stops the waiting period and connects directly to the server, that's of benefit to me. Thanks for this, I shall give It a shot. RE: Block Cyberghost advertisements + skip the waiting period - Throwiee - 10-01-2016 In my opinion, Cyberghost has gone downhill. They don't have the anomaly option for the free software anymore. Also the connection has gone to crap to. RE: Block Cyberghost advertisements + skip the waiting period - Bish0pQ - 10-03-2016 Not that I would use cyberghost, since they lie to their users but anyway the skipping of the waiting period isn't possible.
RE: Block Cyberghost advertisements + skip the waiting period - dangermouse - 10-04-2016 Didn't work for me - I don't mind the ads but the waiting period seems to be getting longer RE: Block Cyberghost advertisements + skip the waiting period - Bish0pQ - 10-04-2016 (10-04-2016, 10:03 AM)dangermouse Wrote: Didn't work for me - I don't mind the ads but the waiting period seems to be getting longer It pretty much depends on when you want to connect. If you want to connect in the evening, when most people are home the waiting period will be longer. When you would go online at 6.00 AM in the morning, traffic wouldn't be as much as in the evening, and waiting periods will be shorter. I wouldn't recommend using CyberGhost anyway. They keep logs, and there are way better VPN's that you can get for free or for a very low price. I've heard a lot of good things about PIA from here and elsewhere. |
