When it becomes time for your child to get off the iPad take it from them. That's what we do with our 3 year old, and you know how it is when you take shit from them

It should be common sense.

I remember back when I was a kid, you got told one fucking time to do something, if you didn't do it you got, told something along the lines of,"I'm not going to tell you again, do it or I'm going to bust your ass"

That's the, fucking problem with kids now days, you even, smack their butts and people call the cops. You have to do time out, verbal disapline etc. So kids do and say what they want with no fucking respect.

My advice, tell the kid one time to be off at a predetermined time, if they refuse warn them one time, if they refuse paddle their ass. It'll wake them up quick.

I don't know if I'd use physical violence, but I'll 10/10 verbally abuse the shit out of a kid.

But there is a BIG difference betweenabuse and discipline. A simple, smack on the ass (even,of hard enough bot,to inflict pain) can actually wake a kid up quick, it's the fact that you did it that wakes them up,not the actual actions. Verbal abuse is actually proven to lead to depression and other mental illnesses.

What amazing parenting skills you must have. Let's hit our child so that (s)he does what we want rather than telling them why disobeying his/her parents is wrong.

That's funny. I explain to my child what and why what he does is poor behavior. My,child, actually gets politely but sternly verbally warned 3 times before time out. (normally a minute or two) then if he persist to be rebellious, I warn him one last time before "swatting him" (tends to be just soft enough to make contact with his diaper / pull ups where he doesn't even move from contact)
Just the thought of being disciplined in this fashion tends to get him to stop.

Like if I were to pat your arm as soft as I pay his bottom you would think a breeze came through.

For older kids, yes I feel that if you tell them to stop using an ipad, they refuse (and your too stupid to remove it from their possession) a simple, smack is in place, not hard enough to bruise or do any marks (do pretty much the thought of being swatted hurts hope then the physical contact)
You meow always sit here and take things that are said ,out of proportion and attempt to make an educated rebuttal to receive heated reactions... I love it and actually enjoy the heated responses you receive from other users it cracks me up Smile
