Obscure Genres? - Galvanized - 07-05-2016 Ok guys, I'm confident that I know most of the general genres, and many of the obscure ones. Prove me wrong. I'm always willing to widen my musical tastes. Also, I'm not talking about those shitty obscure genres that fit 1-2 artists, and only have like a slight difference from another larger genre (e.g. dark ambient banjo drone music) inb4 witch house, vaporwave, lowercase, noise music, darkstep, speedcore, alternative chiptune, IDM, synthwave, Krautrock, or any sub genres of these. I'm talking about real obscure music that bring something entirely new to the table. Am I asking for too much? Post an obscure genre that you think I wouldn't have heard of. RE: Obscure Genres? - Conch - 07-05-2016 I've got one for you, You've probably heard of the Genre, I don't know what it is though and I'd like some insight as to what you think the genre is, for me ![]() And, No, I do NOT like this style of music at all, it was on a very obscure CD sent out to my address 5 years ago, I still cannot comprehend most of the songs on it. The most obscure genre I listen to is IndieFunk RE: Obscure Genres? - Oni - 07-05-2016 Moving this to the Music section. Wish it was better quality. Do you still have the CD? If so, could you rip it for me? At first it just sounded like regular noise music but then it turned into noise rock. The vocals are great too. EDIT: their soundcloud doesn't sound much like the track you posted actually. But their label has a higher quality version of the track you posted (07-05-2016, 11:51 PM)Oni Wrote: Moving this to the Music section. Damn, I swear I posted it in the Music section. Sorry

Very much appreciated. According to antigen records, the CD isn't available anymore, so by doing this, you could possibly be preserving music that would otherwise have been forgotten in the sea of information. RE: Obscure Genres? - ProfessorChill - 07-09-2016 Blunt Trap, descendant of Chill Trap and Trap widely seen on the blvntrecords Soundcloud however is slowly making its way to other record labels. I am fairly sure this fits all of your requests. Hmmm interesting. Like slowed down trap. I like it. Although, I wouldn't say it's anything entirely new. As in, Blunt Trap is still heavily influenced by its parent genres. But still, I haven't heard of it yet, so yeah, good shit. It sounds like Teebs doing trap music.Thank you very much! I'm hoping it spreads to more record labels, as I'm not really a big fan of genres that are dominated by one company. I haven't watched that video before but they listed some pretty common ones tbh. At least they mentioned lowercase though. |
