Is it better to finish anime ASAP or take your time? - Master - 05-29-2016 When you find anime you really enjoy of course you're going to want to watch as many as you can, but is that the right thing to do? I remember watching Chihayafuru one of the favorite anime I finished it in a month (both seasons) and after that I felt like I could've enjoyed it more if I extended my time I spent on the anime. (example 1-2 ep per day) What are your thoughts? RE: Is it better to finish anime ASAP or take your time? - Pirate - 05-29-2016 Well unless you're on your death bed why not enjoy it for as long as possible? RE: Is it better to finish anime ASAP or take your time? - xPaisios.io - 05-30-2016 Asap so you can watch another one,but you will run out of good anime to see real soon trust me! RE: Is it better to finish anime ASAP or take your time? - insidious - 05-30-2016 Although I find it extremely difficult some times not to binge, it's probably better to take your time. Sometimes, I find it difficult to digest several episodes in quick succession, which ruins some aspects of the anime. It's better to mull over what just happened in the latest episode you watched, rather than binge everything. RE: Is it better to finish anime ASAP or take your time? - Jiggly - 06-01-2016 I think the general trend of the responses lean towards take your time. I have to say, I do often struggle to find shows sometimes as I usually binge watch, finish too soon then want more, so I go looking for a similar type of show. If I don't find something similar or better shortly after I tend to stop looking for new shows for a while and go into a dry period of no anime. I've only just recently come out of one and have begun binge watching shows. Fortunately, these shows are still airing so I have yet to see episodes that haven't aired yet. I find it very frustrating. I am the same with books. I used to read 600 page books in like 2 days when I was 10. I definitely have issues. RE: Is it better to finish anime ASAP or take your time? - BurritoBeans - 06-01-2016 I go slow, real slow compared to other people I'm going to assume. My schedule isn't that busy, I have a good bit of free time to mess around in, but usually watching anime isn't my priority and if it is, one episode a week is "fast" for me, maybe every other week is more like it. The issue with this is that I'll be too busy with music or games that I completely forget to go back to my series I was watching and forget what happened previously. Just as an example, Skullmeat got me to watch that Nyaruko series. I got through the shorts in the span of a week or so, and whatever those took up a few minutes at most so I didn't have to "digest" anything from them as they seemed like one-offs. When I finally got to the main series I got three episodes, and took them over the span of a month. Wait two more weeks and I remembered to watch the other 9, then wait another and I finally got around to getting said other 9. This is when I took it too fast, I watched 'em all in the span of three days, and I couldn't remember crap from them as I didn't get anything that happened so I had to go back and watch them over another month or so. Now I have to get around to the 2nd one from 2013 that has the W at the end, and I figure I'll get them on Friday and watch them over the rest of the month, maybe into next month. So yeah, I like watching the stuff, but I just take it slow as I feel that I get more of what's happening so I have a better idea of what's going on - taking it quick (A few episodes a day to me) just leaves me confused at what I saw. RE: Is it better to finish anime ASAP or take your time? - Losi - 06-01-2016 I usually go on bouts of extreme binging where I stay up til 4-5 am to watch a series. It's a horrible way to enjoy the content but once I find a show, I cant stop watching it. I find if I watch more than a few episodes in a day, the episodes kind of blur and I forget some important aspects of the anime, and end up a bit confused when I get further into it (especially with longer animes, 24+ episdoes) Oni Wrote:I tend to only watch 2-3 episodes at a time, unless I plan to binge. Binging has it's place, too, though. Right now I have more time on my hands so I end up binging more than I should (not a good thing) but if there's an anime i'm itching to finish or haven't had the time before to finish, I binge it, because fuck it if (interest > current.time) me.mull(anime); else binge; ^ anime binge Philosophy RE: Is it better to finish anime ASAP or take your time? - Skullmeat - 06-02-2016 If its an intense anime, I like to space it out a bit, usually 2-3 episodes at a time. I've had a few that really take you for an emotional roller-coaster ride and those take longer for me to finish. |
