Favorite Rifle - Oni - 11-16-2015 I know a percentage of SL has owned/shot guns in the past. For those of you that have had the privilege of firing one, what is your favorite rifle? My personal favorite is the AK-47, which is probably the most resilient/reliable/inexpensive. You can slosh it in the mud, throw it around, and it will still fire just as well. There's a reason that so many Eastern powers have used them in the past, too. RE: Favorite Rifle - Earth - 11-17-2015 Believe it or not I like the Chiappa Little Badger 22lr due to it's small size it is great for a survival rifle or preparedness rifle. Of course the Mossberg Plinkster is another good one. People doubt 22lr but it is a very deadly round and is under estimated, a 22lr is deadly for like 400+ yards but is only accurate to a kill shot of around 300 yards which is still pretty damn good. Sad thing is 22lr is still hard to come by since the shortage but it is starting to make a comeback. People down here take small to large game such as deer with 22lr easily. People have killed them with 22lr before, but it's not a situation you'd want to be in. RE: Favorite Rifle - roger_smith - 11-17-2015 Actually another vote for a 22 from me. The only rifle I own that I shoot is my Ruger 10/22 tactical. I also own a Browning BAR hunting rifle, but that one is a sentimental piece that I do not shoot. I love my 10/22, it's sweet. I also enjoy my Remington 20Gauge, but that's not technically a rifle. RE: Favorite Rifle - Slacker - 11-17-2015 I prefer the Smith and Wesson M&p15 (.223) with a sure fire bump stock (family owns a few) you can literally drop 40 rounds in a very rapid time span (matter of seconds) or lock the stock back and go to semi auto again for less spray and pray and more tactical shot placement. I shoot the rings off soda bottles while leaving the cap in tact*, you tell me :p *with a BB gun, when I was like 12 RE: Favorite Rifle - The Real Slim Shady - 11-17-2015 The only gun i've owned was an Enfield M1917. I used it for competition shooting and hunting small game. I've also fired a C7. The C7 was definitely a rush. but there is definitely something to say about the challenge and expertise needed to accurately hit a target. |
