Your favorite war movies/shows? - Blue - 10-14-2015 In order, my top 3 + a little bit about the movie. All of these are on netflix! 1. Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter ( It's on netflix, in english it's Generation war on netflix. GO WATCH IT NOW, you will have so many feels so many awesome moments, it's just amazing. ) (No Spoiler Plot) Berlin, 1941. Five friends eager to become heroes in an adventure that will change the face of Europe - and that will forever change them as well. Level-headed, highly decorated officer Wilhelm is off to the eastern front with his younger brother Friedhelm, a sensitive dreamer more interested in literature than warfare. Deeply in love with Wilhelm is Charlotte, a young nurse who looks forward to serving in the Wehrmacht, also on the eastern front. While Greta is a talented singer who longs to become another Marlene Dietrich, her Jewish boyfriend Viktor still cannot convince his parents to leave Germany... Valor and courage come to the fore, but also betrayal - of values, beliefs, humanity. 2. My way. (No Spoiler Plot) Inspired by a true story. Jun Shik works for Tatsuo's grandfather's farm while Korea is colonized by Japan, but he has a dream to participate in Tokyo Olympics as a marathon runner. Tatsuo also aims to become a marathon runner, so the two are in rivalry. But war breaks out and they both are forced to enlist in the army. 3. Inglourious Basterds (No Spoiler Plot) In Nazi-occupied France, young Jewish refugee Shosanna Dreyfus witnesses the slaughter of her family by Colonel Hans Landa. Narrowly escaping with her life, she plots her revenge several years later when German war hero Fredrick Zoller takes a rapid interest in her and arranges an illustrious movie premiere at the theater she now runs. With the promise of every major Nazi officer in attendance, the event catches the attention of the "Basterds", a group of Jewish-American guerrilla soldiers led by the ruthless Lt. Aldo Raine. As the relentless executioners advance and the conspiring young girl's plans are set in motion, their paths will cross for a fateful evening that will shake the very annals of history. Currently I am watching Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War (태극기 휘날리며) Starting now after this post hopefully it'll be good. Feel free to watch as well! ![]() RE: Your favorite war movies/shows? - CPU - 10-14-2015 I will be sure to take notes on these movie titles and watch them if I ever have time in the future. I enjoy watching war movies, and although a good movie that I have watched called The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is not necessarily in the war genre, I highly recommend taking a look at it if you haven't already. RE: Your favorite war movies/shows? - Komoto 河本 - 11-14-2015 My favorite war movies would have to be Act of Valor, Lone Survivor, American Sniper, and Saving Private Ryan. I guess I mostly like the first three so much just because they're about the SEALs, which is what I want to do in the military once I finish college. RE: Your favorite war movies/shows? - Codeine™ - 11-14-2015 My favorite movies are The purge and Area 51. The purge is about a night where everything gets legal in 12hours even murder. Area 51 is about the secret base located in Las Vegas, and they try to break into the base. RE: Your favorite war movies/shows? - Oni - 11-14-2015 Forrest Gump is a favorite. RE: Your favorite war movies/shows? - Ion - 11-14-2015 Pan's Labyrinth was pretty good, along with World War Z and Avatar.
