Borderlands 2 - Oni - 01-06-2015

With my PS Vita, I got a code for Borderlands 2 (and all the DLC). Funnily, I forgot I even had it, and left it sitting in the box. About a week or two later, I realized, and was lucky nobody tossed the box out. Initially, I always had a poor opinion of Borderlands, as there wasn't much customization and it failed to interest me. Always seemed like another boring FPS. However, since I got it for free, I decided to give it a shot.

I've only played a few of the missions, but I am enjoying it a fair amount. Most of the issues that I predicted would be present in the game, weren't. It seems to me, that they really improved things with the DLC and the skins. One of my biggest pet peeves about newer games is the lack of customization. Skins aren't exactly all that great when it comes to customization, but it does give the impression your character is somehow different from the ones being played by other people.

The game also features a huge arsenal of weapons, with a variety of perks. The only real issue I've encountered so far, is that the aiming system isn't nearly as nice as on Killzone: Mercenary. Of course, you can never have a perfect aiming system on the PS Vita. It just doesn't work like that. I'm curious if anyone else has played the games on PC, or at least a console that isn't handheld. I would imagine it is a lot more fun to play, with improved graphics, and a flawless aiming system.

What are your thoughts on Borderlands 2? Have you played on the PS Vita or other consoles? Enjoy it?

I played it on PC and Xbox 360.

It kind of felt like the story was going in a loop.
Something bad happens > Gear up to stop it > Start to save it, big boss guy comes > Kill boss men > Rinse & Repeat

It was definitely fun, don't get me wrong but it's not necessarily a game you'd play for long periods of time without getting bored.

Spoiler:
unless you're stoned like i was

I'm not, but for a PS Vita game, it's pretty decent. Maybe I will be in a week or two, and I'll give it a shot. Tongue

If anything, I find him slightly annoying. Still funny, occasionally.

Right now, I could only see myself playing it on a handheld. Mainly due to a lack of decent FPS games. Maybe I'd play it on a computer/console if I was intoxicated, but that's about it.

Personally, the story isn't amazing but I still spent countless hours on the game.
I have only played it on Xbox 360.
Not a bad game at all.

Borderlands is the sort of series that you play through each game once and never dare touch it again. It's addictive and fun, yet repetitive and slow alot of the time.
