Turns out the answer is yes. Found this video today (it was released before Apple unveiled it's 'new' line up)

Not sure if it's sad or funny to be honest. What are your views on this?

It was a setup, the idea was to see if people would instantly like something because it had an Apple logo on it. And that's exactly what happened. The thing is whe people have a camera following them the general population tends to take them as trustworthy and will likely believe what they tell them (i.e this $20 Casio watch is Apples new smartwatch)

I remember watching a similar video a few years ago where they walked around with a current iPhone telling people it was the new model. That for me got far better reactions as people where comparing it to their own iPhone's and testifying to how much faster and lighter it was.

For me the experiment is more about how brainwashed some people are into backing a certain product that they can't see any bad things with them. This goes for most things in life (particularly technology, and not just Apple products).

Sad to see that they all said they liked it because it was made by apple, but to dumb to release the apple logo was a sticker and was a cheap plain casio watch. Looking at most apple products, most of them are white or maybe a light grey, but a full black watch? c'mon people!

I think the same goes for other products such as dr.dre beats, even though some people have never owned a pair they still think they are some of the best headphones on the market, when you could probably spend half the price and get a better pair of headphones.

Apple's fan club, seem like junkies...
I imagine them to beg for money after some years to buy Apple products and fulfill there passion. :troll:

EDIT : Although their laptop's design and production has to do with advanced stuff they are on top on this aspect I think without really using one. (Excluding AlienWare ones of course)

I don't actually agree with you. Well I'm not an apple fan but I actually think that they are working well on their products. For example I saw apple IPhone6 presentation and I must admit that upgrades really impressed me. They are moving to the right path.

I wouldn't buy IPhone because you can't customize and tweak it, but it is decent phone for everyday user. But I must say that price for IPhone is inadequate.

Couldn't agree more, but it's not just Apple who do this. Take Microsoft for example, they remove features from their operating system when you buy the basic home version and charge you more for crappy software or if you want to be able to address more than 4GB of RAM. Again a lot of companies use similar tactics in order to squeeze every last penny form consumers. The fan boys only make things worse by happily throwing obscene amounts of money at them for products that are barely any better.

I know it sounds a little cliché but I didn't actually see much in the way of improvement to be brutally honest. All they seem to have done is bring their product in line with the flagship Android devices. NFC and a large screen have been around for a while and they have only just released a true 1080p screen (not even using a 4k camera which is now in use by high end Android devices) and they didn't bother to make it waterproof which is a really useful feature.

As for the watch Samsung have been doing this for a while also, and i works without being paired with a phone.

All in all I don't think the new phone is all that innovative.
