I think that they are amazing and should be more used. I say this because with out them, we probably wouldn't have half the gaming stuff we have ATM.

If an iPod Touch counts, then I think they are great.
I've had my iPod Touch for years (it's a 2nd generation version) and I've always used it. It's great to play some quick games when you are bored.

iPod Touch FTW. I have the very 1st one. I have it jailbroken with my custom files, I've edited everything on it, and it runs twice the speed of a iPhone 5. Tested too.
