Internal android root? - Inori - 04-29-2014 I'm looking to root my android but I'm too lazy to go through the process on my computer so I was wondering if there was any way to root it directly on the phone? RE: Internal android root? - chmod - 04-29-2014 As far as I know not anymore there used to be an exploit in in gingerbread that allowed you to do this but as far as I know it has since been fixed, rooting an Android phone these days has become a very simple process anyway and most of the time it's just a case of plugging it in downloading an application to the computer and pressing a couple of buttons. which is only really one extra step anyway. RE: Internal android root? - chmod - 04-29-2014 No, most of these apps are Windows binaries and work by flashing an insecure boot loader to the device, then pushing across and executing the exploit and finally pushing the superuser binary to the device. This needs to be done while the phone is in recovery mode so once the phone resets the program would end and not flash the required files. RE: Internal android root? - alok9shm - 04-30-2014 It depends on what device are you using. Most of the devices can be rooted using 3rd party apps on the device itself. RE: Internal android root? - lulzboat - 08-09-2014 most android devices can not be rooted via the device itself. odin is the easiest way. download the root software and be done. takes 5 minutes. once the phone is rooted you can flash roms from your device without a computer which is what i do. i would take the 5 minutes to use odin on your computer to root it. then use your phones browser to find the rom you want. i can help you if you want just send me a pm. RE: Internal android root? - l4ur15 - 08-09-2014 I have heard that oneclickroot sometimes works. Its an app on PC but it is super simple.(One click root) But i did all manually. Unlocked bootloader, flashed kernel, put custom rom and gapps. RE: Internal android root? - h3r0 - 08-10-2014 Rooting is pretty simple in linux, just setting up a samba server and you can do it over wifi. Good times. It's worth it just to have root and it isn't that hard to do. RE: Internal android root? - lulzboat - 08-10-2014 use odin on pc.it literally takes 5 minutes lol |
