Your view on art? - 1llusion - 06-23-2013 Hi! I've just made another useless application, that I like to call an "art generator". This one generates "poems": http://poem.1llusion.info/ What is your view on art? What counts as art and what doesn't? I personally am a fan of modern art, but, there are times when I just look at a painting and think to myself "what the hell..." And from music, I really like this piece (or should I say pieces?): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wiwo7uC33pQ RE: Your view on art? - Linuxephus™ - 06-23-2013 (06-23-2013, 01:24 AM)1llusion Wrote: Hi! "The expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture,...: "the art of the Renaissance" Works produced by such skill and imagination." I think that you should make me an application with a word list that contains all of my use of the English language that I might use it in lieu of all of the typing I do. Thank you in advance. Chop, chop, time's a ticking. RE: Your view on art? - Deque - 06-23-2013 (06-23-2013, 02:48 AM)Linuxephus™ Wrote:(06-23-2013, 01:24 AM)1llusion Wrote: Hi! I discussed a lot with my husband about it. At one point we agreed that everything that someone calls art is art. That's the closest we could get after every other idea of us failed (we had different views though). I think if any observer can make a meaning out of it, it is art. No matter who or what created it. After all the programs we write to produce art are a piece of art too. Edit: Look at the mandelbrot or other fractals created by programs. They have so much beauty:

Eh...I was hoping for something more upon the magnitude of 1 billion words or so. ![]() P.S.-That image was extremely and quite artfully loud. RE: Your view on art? - noize - 06-24-2013 Probably everything is art. Even the word "art" is art; the concept, meaning, cause and environment in which art develops are all examples of art too. Though, never forget that the concept of art is just a meaning assigned to a word by people. They seem to have not cared about giving it a perfectly-defined boundary-limited meaning. RE: Your view on art? - Deque - 06-25-2013 RE: Your view on art? - zouis - 08-04-2013 I don't think there's specifically anything that can't be classified as art. Art is everything you want it to be, as deep and mysterious as that sounds. |
