Hiding shell in image (iCon2PHP) - Faner - 11-29-2012

Greetings,
so today is 1 years anniversary on my registration here, and not so long ago I realised that in all those 12 months I haven't made a single usefull and informative post.
For few days I've been thinking what I could write tutorial about, since I don't have much experience in anything related to IT. Biggrin But yesterday I accidently came across Root's thread
http://www.hackcommunity.com/Thread-Hidding-shell-in-image where he/she asks for tutorial hidding shell in image. And then I remembered icon2php... Biggrin

So, icon2php is used to hide a shell in an image so as to avoid errors while uploading it to an Image Uploader on a Website. In other words, if you encounter errors like “File Type not Supported”, this is the tool you need. Tool is writen by Akatzbreaker in python.

You can download icon2php from http://www.mediafire.com/?y3bjs85ucjd2h5t
or (exact file)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/8magzv

Archive also contains 3 shells: r57, c100 and GnYshell.

Ok, I don't think any tutorial how it works is nessesary, because it's usage is VERY simple, but if anyone will have problems, then read on:

1.Extract archive where ever you want.

2. Then open terminal (on Windows run "cmd").

3. Change directory to where ever you extracted icon2php (use "cd" command). I have extracted it on Desktop, so I just typed in "cd Desktop".

4. Run icon2php with command "python iCon2PHP.py".

5. Fallow program's guide... Enter path to shell and image. I had them on desktop, so I just typed their names.

6. Here, now you have shell ready to upload to where ever you want.

Uploading our shell...

And success. Smile
By the way, shell to that website I uploaded just to make screenshots, after that it was deleted and admin probably will be warned about weak security in his website...
Anyway, this tutorial is only for educational purpose, and I highly disapprove using shells for something evil (or childish), like defacing... Smile
Hope you liked this. Thanks for attention. Biggrin

Not sure about that error. I have tried this either on backtrack and on windows, but never got any errors. Maybe problem lies in your python? Anyway, will check this later at home.
Edit: Well, it's probably win7 specific error. Googled a bit looking for solution, but can't find anything similar. And I have zero knowledge of python, so can't rewrite it. Sad
