A denial-of-service attack (DoS attack) or distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS attack) is an attempt to make a computer or network resource unavailable to its intended users. In kind words my friend here is simply saying they take down websites, However you will need something more powerful if your thinking of touching facebook at all.
Also i like your username, I used .tar.gz files when I were constructing a ROM for a mobile phone. Porting Android 2.3 from phones to others without the right hardware specifications.

Yes, simply make your own version
Or join Google and get access to Goobuntu (not sure, but I've heard rumours that its edited version of Ubuntu for google employees)
Btw, I would suggest testing your network speed before setting the threads. If somebody has 1mb/s, 1k threads might simply DoS his own network, which is kinda useless...
Today, DDoS protection is getting affordable and strong. To actually take something down without wasting resources, use exploit-based ddos and I'm not talking about syn/ack exploits or slowloris, they are patched. Something new, firmware dos is effective (but difficult and you need access to the server first)

The question is, why would you want that?
What are the needs you search in a distro?
You can ofcourse costumize your distro to your liking so you have a 'own os' to your liking.

Merely a sense of achievement or a unique OS.
Other options would be to possibly find one from the OS list here and crack it if not free:

And for the DDOS factor i believe the most effective are bot-nets and a growing spreader, talking large enemy now.
