OS X vs. Windows 8 - Oni - 09-29-2014
Given that Microsoft has gone to shit, I am almost inclined to think OS X might be just as good or better. That doesn't mean I will be switching from Windows 7 or Debian any time soon, though.
Thoughts?

Just to clarify, I am not in any way saying OS X is good now. In fact, I am just saying that both are utter shit.

well personally I am typing this from windows 8. I "owned" a MacBook for a couple years, but I would never switch my windows for it, even though it has that polished feeling to it.
I really don't even dislike windows 8. I agree that I'd rather be on fedora, since it feels finished and unique, but games are a big plus for windows (IMO)
I guess we'll see what windows 9 has to bring to us (I saw an article somewhere that said it'll be free for win8 users

I like OSX. I think it does a very good job at combining the functionality of a POSIX compliant system and the convince of a windows machine. Other than the price, I have no real complaints with OSX and Macintosh products. After years of both windows and Linux use, so far I'm liking OSX the most in terms of a daily home PC operating system.
Do explain why you don't like OSX though. Just wondering how your experience with it has left such a bad impression.
