Nullify reputation from banned/tempbanned users? - MiS - 06-27-2014
As the title says, should we remove or nullify the reputation given to other users from people who have been banned? Most, if not all, people who get banned are usually because they broke or disobeyed the rules - so why should their reputation count matter for another user if they can't even act accordingly to the site?

I've been thinking this for a while you know, but on a grander scale (being a built in feature in mybb) never thought to suggest this haha. I'd like to see this implimented and I can see it happening.

This would be good for the majority of people, but for old users that contribute a lot to SL whom make a mistake and get banned, their rep should still count. It is for this reason that I oppose this.

Or, you could change it to neutral - so that the banned person's comments are still visible (i.e if it was an important, such as something regarding a deal dispute) so other member's are aware of who they're dealing with. Although, saying that: I have a negative reputation from a banned user for sharing a few guides, so I wouldn't have a problem with this being put forward.

On case basis would be better. If its rep abuse then remove it. If it was valid, I don't see a reason to remove it.

People get unbanned a lot and it seems stupid to remove all of their reputation. You might ask, "What about people that are permanently banned?" Yes, people are unbanned after permanent bans occasionally too.
