Vocaloids - Losi - 05-24-2014

Hey guys, there doesn't seem to be a thread on Vocaloids, so i'm going to make one.
The based Vocaloid (Bōkaroido) is a singing voice synthesizer. Its signal processing part was developed through a joint research project led by Kenmochi Hideki at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain, in 2000 and originally was not intended to be a full commercial project. Backed by the Yamaha Corporation, it developed the software into the commercial product "Vocaloid." The software enables users to synthesize singing by typing in lyrics and melody. It uses synthesizing technology with specially recorded vocals of voice actors or singers. To create a song, the user must input the melody and lyrics. A piano roll type interface is used to input the melody and the lyrics can be entered on each note. The software can change the stress of the pronunciations, add effects such as vibrato, or change the dynamics and tone of the voice. Each Vocaloid is sold as "a singer in a box" designed to act as a replacement for an actual singer. The software was originally only available in English starting with the first Vocaloids Leon, Lola and Miriam and Japanese with Meiko and Kaito, but Vocaloid 3 has added support for Spanish for the Vocaloids Bruno, Clara and Maika; Chinese for Luo Tianyi and Yan He; Korean for SeeU, Catalan for Ona, and French for ALYS.

My favorite Vocaloids are probably Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Len:

Hatsune Miku will probably be my most favorite, since she was the one who introduced me into Vocaloids in the first place.

I also loved Black★Rock Shooter, but the anime and OVA didn't feature her, right?

My favourite is Kasane Teto even though she's usually considered UTAUloid but it's pretty much the same thing...

I've never given vocaloids a go. Although, I am interested in it. I've watched some the those Hatsune Miku concerts on youtube - Those were pretty well done.

Hatsune Miku was Black Rock Shooter. BRS takes the brunt of her emotions. Most people say that Black Rock Shooter was based off Miku.

I agree that B★RS was most likely based off Miku (since she is the program that was used for the song), but I don't recall Hatsune Miku making an appearance in B★RS; I thought she was an independent being who also was Mato Kuroi?

You' re right @MiS Hatsune Miku was used for the opening of the anime. Miku was never in the anime, i guess it was implied that she resembled Black Rock Shooter. Maybe that's just a coincidence.

Reasons:
  • 0x00 - Its sad to think that one day these things that lack personality are going to be the fact of music
  • 0x01 - The music if awful
  • 0x02 - The characters are poorly made and drawn. If it was Monkey D Luffy It would be better (for instance)
