Dubbed or Subbed? - Otaku - 01-14-2014 I'll answer right off the bat. I prefer subbed over dubbed. I honestly hate the English voice-overs and I can never take it seriously. I originally watched dubbed because I had no idea that you could watch it in Japanese with subtitles. Anyways, the subbed animes have more emotion to it and it's just better in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, there are good dubs, but they don't compare to subs. RE: Dubbed or Subbed? - Kureo - 01-14-2014 Really depends on the anime. Some suit subbed better, some suit dubbed better. Only dubbed I can think of is SAO (disliked that completely) and Rosario + Vampire. Oh, and Kaze no Stigma. Hellsing, Death Note, SAO, and more.. They are all anime that are better suited for dubbed. ( Though SAO is also suited for subbed ) RE: Dubbed or Subbed? - Valentino - 01-14-2014 If there's a dubbed version I will always try that first, as personally I'm not a fan of most Japanese voice acting. I've come across very few [dubs] that I thought were bad, or there's only one character out of the cast that seems a bit off/unlikable. And it's not because I just don't like reading subtitles or whatever, I actually watch everything with subtitles even if it's in English

That's just me though. : P (01-14-2014, 10:01 PM)Valentino Wrote: If there's a dubbed version I will always try that first, as personally I'm not a fan of most Japanese voice acting. Used to be the other way around for me! RE: Dubbed or Subbed? - latex_op - 01-14-2014 I prefer dubbed over subbed. I am right now watching One Piece and there is only 300 and something episodes dubbed on english. I guess I will have to watch the rest of it subbed. I also watched some Naruto dubbed. Really nice voice acting on both of them.

If the anime takes place in say... England, I go with dubbed. If it takes place in Japan, I go with subbed. RE: Dubbed or Subbed? - Otaku - 01-14-2014 So, like, I'm the only one who just goes straight to subbed no questions asked?! RE: Dubbed or Subbed? - Reaper_13 - 01-15-2014 Subbed, subbed and subbed again. Generally speaking, the dub is always hilariously bad and the voices, oh the voices... |
