Do you date online? - True2marie - 01-10-2014

Before my prior relationship, I dated men online. It was fun at first, but so many of them wove a fairytale about themselves in order to get women. They were smarter, richer and more fun over the Internet in real life. Blush

I have never dated anyone online. I prefer to date in person because then I at least know what they are really like. People can be completely fake over the internet. I don't trust it.

No. I've been with my BF for four years, so I don't "date" anyone but him. But I think I probably would if I were single. I don't see why not.

I know a few people who met their life partner online. I don't see anything wrong with it at all, as long as you recognize the fact that some people may be out to deceive. For my friends, it was a way to meet people despite leading extremely busy lives. It's tough to meet people if you work 70 hour weeks, and aren't interested in anyone in your workplace. If you are careful and patient about it, it's just as viable an option to find love as any!

No I don't and I don't think I will ever date online.

I don't and never will.. What's the point of a relationship when all you get out of it is a phone call. Just seems extremely stupid to me. Go out the old fashioned way and meet people. It's much more fun.

Oh...I thought we meant meeting people online and then eventually meeting them in person.

I would never have just an online-only BF or anything. But I think some of those dating sites can work well for meeting people in your area. I wouldn't knock it because I've never tried it, and a lot of people seem to find success from it.

Nope, I have never done it over the internet or at all for that matter. Though the idea seems interesting to test.

I actually met my husband online. We weren't looking for a relationship or anything (it wasn't through a dating site), but we just got to talking and enjoyed it. Eventually we talked via Skype, almost everyday and ended up meeting up. I know quite a few people that have met their gfs/bfs/etc online and they have a pretty solid relationship. It's not for everyone though, it's damn hard being in a long distance relationship.

I think that the reason because of this is because they build up trust over a set of time. They get to know a person by their interests and not their looks. Thus they actually fall in love with the person instead of the looks. ( Or a combo of both, where as the looks matter more )
