Should you always be honest with your partner? - True2marie - 12-27-2013

Can telling the truth at ALL times hurt your relationship? Over the past few years, the resounding answer to this question seems to be 'yes'. Most people aren't ready to deal with a brutally honest partner.

Am I wrong?

If you ask me you should be honest but a white lie every now and then is needed.

I think you should be honest but if there is something you have to lie about for the the better it's fine.

You should be as honest as possible, small lies like "Your cooking is good" Are alright, but lying about big things will end badly.

Depends how you want the relationship to go.

My personal opinion is the same as everybody else, but if you can hide the lie and it doesn't hurt anybody
then go for it.

I believe it should be all honesty, unless they ask you something personal, and the truth is bad. Lying in that case is okay.

I mean this is kind of a given. My girlfriend would get 10 kinds of butthurt if I told her I didn't like her cooking. I agree though. Lying about big shit is just a no-no.

I think you should ALWAYS have trust in a relationship, otherwise jealousy could start, I would only want to be with someone with they were going to be 100% honest with me! A relationship CAN NOT work without trust! you need that bond.

Not sure why you would get jealous because someone told you a lie. That's like getting mad because someone said that you look good, it makes no sense.
