It's a big thing because she's a public figure, and people are hateful fucks.
For someone in the public eye to come out despite the fact that they probably will get a lot of flack because of it, it takes some major balls.

She's an actress, probably most famous for playing the titular character in Juno, and Jodie in Beyond: Two Souls.

I understand where it's coming from, but if she took the right path she would've kept it to herself and let other people find out. What most people fail to understand is that you honestly don't have to care what other people think of you.
Example: Charlie Sheen hired hookers, fucked them, and did unspeakable things to them. Called his boss a kike and told him to shut the fuck up. He honestly did not care what people thought about him. After all of that, he still has his /OWN/ T.V show.
People just don't take into consideration that no matter what, you will be judged one way or another. Just learn to not give a fuck.
I need to learn this myself.
