Anime you wish there was more of - Jiggly - 11-07-2023
We've probably all felt the void after finishing a new show that you love. Sometimes we get lucky and new seasons are approved, sometimes shows are cancelled, and sometimes it wouldn't be right to have more seasons (no matter how much we want it).
For a long time I wished there were more seasons of Cowboy Bebop. I don't think they should actually do it, as they have the movie and it would be wrong to tamper with the show after all these years, but I enjoyed it so much.
What's a show you'd happily see 100 episodes of, though it'll probably never happen?

Interesting! I've not seen Death Note. Why would you go for that one? Are there any characters you'd love to see more backstory of or would you want something that focuses on the core characters and bring a new arc?

Nanana's Buried Treasure. It had no right being as good as it was, yet unlike a bunch of legitimately mediocre light novel adaptations the poor thing only got a single season.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners felt really short. Would have loved another season or two. Realistically, I'd say the best anime are between 24-48 episodes. Long enough to build characters and an interesting plot, but not so long that they become plagued with fillers.

I'd love to see Bebop get a revival, but at the same time Watanabe has gone on to make other great anime. At the moment he's working on Lazarus, which looks like it could be really good. When asked about the possibility he's never denied it, so it's always possible. At the same time, I'd hate to see the show ever become stale in the way that many others do. A lot of anime perform poorly simply because the producers are forced to keep releasing episodes long after their interest has faded.
