College - Black Haze - 10-30-2013

Right. So, I've checked Google and tried various searches each differing in search terms. I'm looking to find a College that offers courses in Ethical Hacking, Penetration testing and many other forms of Offensive security. The only thing I can find are unaccredited schools with certifications that you have to pay an outrageous amount of money just to get into.

My question is. Are there any accredited colleges/schools that offer courses in Ethical Hacking, Penetration testing, Offensive security that will accept Financial aid? These are the fields I'm solely interested in, or is it not possible to get into these fields without paying out of pocket?

Honestly your best bet would be to attend some form of trade school, learn about computer science in general and the rest will kinda happen, or so I'm told.

Sorry I can't help you more.

That doesn't quite make sense. As Computer science has nothing to do with the Offensive security field. Thanks for replying though.

RE: College - Harvey - 10-30-2013

I remember reading a couple years back that a university in Ireland was offering an ethical hacking course.

My father learned about computer science at IT Tech, after years of being in the field he can do things on a computer that would blow your mind, hacking is among them.

Jussayin'. I think it exists. But you'd be better off doing a computer science degree and chucking in some ethical hacking certs'. Wink

Well, I don't mind doing certifications. In fact I'm very open to getting those. I just wanna find a school even an online school. That is accredited offers those certifications, and takes financial aid. Cause the places I've been through so far. Cost an outrageous amount to get into.

He's head of security and virus protection for all of IBM, well his region anyway. I'm sure he could run laps around you. Just because he started in on field doesn't mean he remains there.
