Tired of the same shitty stuff? - Horadric_Cube1984 - 01-03-2022

Call me old fashioned, but the state of the market on here is sad to say the least.
Everywhere you go when it comes to these sites you see the same skids selling the same shit.
" HQ COMBOS + ACCOUNTS CRACKED!" or my other favorite "BEST PRIVATE METHODS COLLECTION + EWHORE METHOD".

I think those of us in the real hacking community should do our best to rid our sites of these leeches.
After all they aren't really cracking anything or bringing anything new to the table.
It's the same kids using the same web scrapers. And the same kids downloading a "Bible" that they didn't write.

Just an opinion. Do with it what you will.

Then it becomes an issue of censoring users. There are rules that clearly define what is allowed and disallowed. Users are not forced to upload only things that provide information to others, which should be free for every user, they are only encouraged to do so. I don't mind leeching or sharing combos and proxy lists and the inevitable regurgitation of information they read in a child's book for shellcode or Python.

I don't recommend censorship of any forum to provide a safer place or place of libraries of knowledge free of bad information. Bad information is something to be learned from. Nobody should just use information they read on a forum like SL at face value and use it to run an enterprise network.

But it should be common knowledge to sanitize and research and do your own due diligence when it comes to grabbing tools and advice from anywhere. It's not the responsibility of the forum admins or moderation team to watch for fake tools but they are spat out of the forum as they are discovered.

Malware is the bigger threat, bigger than misinformation and bigger than moderation. It has become paramount to the internet that it grow common sense and assess itself rather than have systems in place to analyze every single bit that comes out of it.

I'm not saying we should do anything.
Mainly just ranting. The quality of forums has definitely gone down with all these major skid waves.
I just needed to get the shit off my chest.

Well I wouldn't deny another person the occasional rant. I understand.

Moved from the Market Discussion forum to The Lounge.

5 posts, and you decide to talk shit about the forum. If you are so annoyed by the state of the market here, then contribute your own stuff. No one's stopping you from helping solve the problem you are talking about.

Once I am finished programming my product I intend to. But as I said in the post it is not this forum in particular. But almost all the forums.

I believe I understand you. There has been an overall shift in the kinds of posts you see in various forum marketplaces. I've only been using forums just shy of 10 years, but even I can see there is this shift in the marketplaces, and in some other sections too. There's nothing wrong with recognising that.

Of course, as you said, as admins and moderators, we're not looking to censor the content we don't particularly "like" as we're pretty supportive of letting people talk about what they want to talk about. I personally think it's one of the core values of SL, and I suspect other forums feel the same way. But that's not really the point of your thread, right?

Generally we always recommend that if you don't like the content, drown it out with better, more interesting content that you do like. Of course, that is easier said than done. However, I'm sure you will find others on this board that will share similar skills or interests to yourself. I hope you get to connect with those members!

I look forward to whatever you choose to share with us after you finished your current programming project.

Now that is some pro navigating right there, @Jiggly Cool

I'm still new here, but Imo markets like in SL have always been like this with young users wanting the 'quick wins', and geezers like me griping about it. A bit higher volume than 10-20 years ago but that's kinda to be expected I think. Honestly I've gotten used to it over the years so I just kinda treat it like background noise really.

I say as long as adults are around to make sure nothing burns the house down, why not 'let the kids play' Evil

We tried the idea of "closed registration" a good number of years ago, but it did not have the intended effects. Had I left the forum as such, we would not have met many of the people that helped to shape the forum into what it is today. At the end of the day, we're an open forum and our content will always be a reflection of those that choose to post. Whether your interests, skill level, or morals differs from other members matters not. I've always maintained that people should contribute what they are interested in, rather than complain about the things they aren't.
