help me with choosing a book ! - bananagio - 12-27-2021

i wanna start with im not sure if this is the right place (the lounge) where i should be asking but im starting to get into books

can you guys recommend me good books about manipulation?

im very fascinated by manipulation and how it works (before you guys think im a sick fuck)
i wanna be aware of stuff around me and how it could use it to be advantageous against others
not to abuse it and also how to recognize it and not fall into it

books Ive read which are similar :
laws of power(Robert Greene)
how to win friends and influence people (dale Carnegie)
how to talk to anyone 92 little tricks for big success (leil lowndes)
covert emotional manipulation tactics (adelyn birch)
social engineering the hack of human nature (have not read but i wanna get into )

do you guys recommend others or know any that are along the lines of these books
(not just manipulation but self development and how to have a private benefit books)

thanks in advance i look forwards to you guys recommendations !

Social Engineering: The Art of Human Hacking from Christopher Hadnagy is a great book. It's pretty long but well worth reading if you're interested in SE tactics. If you want to learn direct techniques there's a sub forum here.

Talk to @mothered our resident genius for all things social engineering. Cool

VT scan

I've also found a book list here for a lot more. PDF files aren't scanned so make sure to sandbox them yourself.

None of the books recommended will give you the direct techniques. They're more focused on the psychological, physical and emotional perspectives. They're all great reads.

The Art of War by Sun Tzu is a must read, his tactics can be universally applied to almost anything, including SE.

Not a Kevin Mitnick fan but would recommend it anyway. Go to google and search for all books by Kevin Mitnick and start everything in order. You can get books in pdf format or epub format for free at file sharing sites such as libgen.is but be mindful about what you download. That's all I can say.

Less work, less patience, sadly nothing learned. You have to work hard for it to earn it man. I know you can do it! Smile

Well, when it comes to surveys and best among the rest, the results are always Americans. So I am not impressed. All I know is that the true best among the rest are those who aren't discovered yet. Smile

I understand and respect your viewpoint.

Based on his proven track record of social engineering some of the largest entities (Fortune 500 companies Included), I believe Mitnick Is quite a talented SE'er. But that's just my opinion, each to their own.

I have always preferred Dave Hadnagy over Kevin Mitnick.
