Tips and tricks for new members. - Cosmic - 06-13-2013 The following is a list of tips and tricks that I heavily suggest you go through and read, and bear in mind at all times, as these will help you a tonne. 1: Never, EVER under ANY circumstance ask for reputation points. If you've never been on a forum before, upgraded members can give other members 'rep' or reputation. This reputation is displayed near the users name on every post they make, and many users use the reputation level to judge how trustworthy a person is (although note a fully upgraded member with 300 rep isn't always trustworthy). Many members here, especially Gold (third rank of upgrade, you need to apply for) members will become annoyed when you ask, and will usually give you negative reputation.
2: Make an attempt to learn basic spelling and grammar. I myself suffer here, as I've never been in a community where it's such a big thing. Therfore I've made more of an attempt to use better punctuation and always spell correctly, however I can empathise with younger members that may find it hard. Many users will base a persons authenticity or whether or not they will help them with something based off of the users spelling and grammar. 3: If you're younger than 14-15, don't bring it up unless absoloutley necessary. Many older users just make jibes and jokes towards you if you're a younger member, and you will lose a lot of credibility. 5: Post in the right section. For example, if you have a question that is specifically about xbox gaming, post it in the xbox section. Threads posted in the wrong section are usually ignored. Thanks for reading, I hope you make use of these tips! If any others users would like to contribute, feel free to make a post and I'll add it in

RE: Tips and tricks for new members. - OversouL - 06-13-2013 Nice thread, I will bare in mind to keep practicing my spelling and grammar since I think I have a bit of bad one. Mine isn't amazing, I should really work on it. RE: Tips and tricks for new members. - Kyou - 06-14-2013 Nice thread, good tips for new members that are just starting to the forum scene. Not a fan of the rainbow colors on the thread, but oh well it gets the point across. RE: Tips and tricks for new members. - Zurchi_DZ - 06-14-2013 Great tips. I knew all of these, but if someone is new it will be helpful. RE: Tips and tricks for new members. - Sunlight - 06-14-2013 I'm almost 100% certain there is no Ub3r group on this site. I'm guessing you got this from HF? If so, just change up the group names in the thread. Other than that, sexy thread. RE: Tips and tricks for new members. - Lithium - 06-14-2013 He just copy and pasted it. Pretty dumb imo since we're all "new" members.
