In terms of a VPN, IPVanish, NordVPN, ExpressVPN, Private Internet Access, ZenMate and Windscribe all serve their purpose well. Of course, you can also use Tor.

If you're only looking for privacy while downloading torrents, then a VPN is your best bet. Since your ISP is claiming that they'll "track you" for downloading torrents, you shouldn't be alarmed about a cease and desist letter. I would recommend a VPN like IPVanish or ExpressVPN. They're both extremely private - upholding their no-logs policy, and they're both cheap options.

Once you have an account with the VPN client installed, you should definitely make sure you have the best settings for privacy enabled, since your ISP has specifically warned you about monitoring your traffic. Settings like your protocol, Scrambling Traffic, DNS Leak Protection, and Kill Switch should be considered. If you aren't sure what protocol to use, do your own research. Most VPNs support a wide range of protocols, but most support OpenVPN, which is definitely your best option. Not all of these settings will be available across all VPNs, but most if not all of should be.

hi thank you so much, Recently get a letter from my internet provider spectrum that i had 40 complaints for torrents and to stop. I just go nord vpn, thanl you once again for all the help

It explains what program/services to use why and if they are opensource.
