Grammar - Мatt - 05-03-2013

I am going to keep this rant rather short since I am on my phone, but I'm just showing some diehard dedication right now. Tongue

Anyway, what the hell is up with people's grammar now-a-days? Seriously, has English become a secondary language? I don't understand half of what people post on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, whatever. It's pretty awful just trying to read some of what people post and they get offended when people correct them or ask them to repeat what they said. I will be honest though, it's not even a generation problem. It is just more relevant now since we have social networking and all the high tech do-hickeys.

I feel it won't change either. We as a planet are lazy and want things brought to us and given to us. Working for anything is so hard to come by in certain people and sooner or later, we will suffer and die as a whole. It may be harsh, but it's a dominoe effect and one thing will always lead to another.

If there was a dislike button, I would be clicking it.

Not sure how to respond to your little rant. I think that most people who talk in text language are idiots especially when their argument back is "it's the internet I can be lazy when typing." However, I wouldn't get my jimmies rustled and make a rant about it.

It truly is a dying art. The thing is, in most contexts, it's almost not appropriate to be using perfect grammar (e.g. Facebook).

That's fine guys I just wanted to post a read for the board. I make this section my daily read for you guys. Just to keep the board activity moving.

RE: Grammar - Four - 05-03-2013

I'll sometimes type like that when I'm talking to a close friend.
It's never so terrible that they have trouble reading it however.
I usually will just type basic stuff such as "nvm = nevermind, txt, brb, lol," and other basic things like that.
Not like some other people " whoz be typng lik dis n sheet."
Depending how illiterate they are, the more I get fed up with it.

That's really what I meant. I will probably edit this rant to give more meaning to it.

If English is your secondary language then it's completely understandable. The effort is what counts. I'm talking about people "who tlk lik dis nd wundr why i get mad."
