Japanese Snacks - Jiggly - 09-11-2020 What Japanese snacks have you tried? ![]() There are plenty of sites/stores where you can purchase imported snacks. While ramen and noodles are very easy to come by, I'd love to know what candy etc people have tried, and then liked. Naturally, pocky is an easy treat to enjoy, I actually tried out a few brands and flavours of Mochi (rice cakes) and Japan's various flavours of Kit-Kats, including rum and raisin, matcha, and sake. I highly recommend the Kit-Kats - I wish they were sold in grocery stores where I live! RE: Japanese Snacks - mothered - 09-11-2020 Quote:I highly recommend the Kit-KatsI absolutely love Kit Kats. RE: Japanese Snacks - Drako - 09-11-2020 I have tried one Japanese candy in my entire life, which is really a shame. A long lost friend of mine brought them over to one of my other friend's house one night. I think his dad was on a business trip in Japan and that's how he got his hands on the candy. The candy came in a bag about the size of a single serving bag of chips. I'll never forget what they tasted like though. But I couldn't remember the name of them if it was for my life. The candy was kind of like a Gusher if it was a little smaller than a Tidepod (weird comparison I know). And they definitely tasted way better than Gushers. The filling was sweet but not overpowering. And they came in different flavors too. RE: Japanese Snacks - Skullmeat - 09-11-2020 There's a Japanese energy drink I've been wanting to try, called Zone. They are really running with the Anime and Gamer theme, there was even Kizuna Ai cans for awhile. I've looked at importing cans and its too pricey so far. There aren't any Japanese snack sellers that offer a better price? RE: Japanese Snacks - Skullmeat - 09-11-2020 There aren't any that offer it, period. At least that I could find. I had to try and price it out with a reshipper. And since where I have seen it online is a case of 24 cans... https://www.amazon.co.jp/ZONe-%E3%82%BE%E3%83%BC%E3%83%B3-Ver-1-0-0-%E3%82%A8%E3%83%8A%E3%82%B8%E3%83%BC%E3%83%89%E3%83%AA%E3%83%B3%E3%82%AF-500ml%C3%9724%E6%9C%AC/dp/B0874Z78PR RE: Japanese Snacks - Jiggly - 09-11-2020 (09-11-2020, 07:36 PM)Skullmeat Wrote: There aren't any that offer it, period. It's not like you're able to do a quick day trip to Japan either XD RE: Japanese Snacks - Skullmeat - 09-11-2020 (09-11-2020, 07:53 PM)Jiggly Wrote:(09-11-2020, 07:36 PM)Skullmeat Wrote: There aren't any that offer it, period. He said right now with school and COVID-19 it might be awhile, but he said if I reminded him he'd try to find some and bring it back. That way he could just ship it from within the US. Id rather not ask him to do that though. I'm not even sure you can find it in stores there. |
