Sex traffickers finding teens address from links - hexy - 09-07-2020

Hey guys, idk I’d this is the right forum to post this, but I live by Chicago so the sex trafficking is really bad, a lot of my friends have been getting these messeges that will grab your address when you click on them and depending where you live people may come after you, I don’t have any money but I would really like somebody to fuck these assholes up please. Like I don’t know what you can do but do anything you can to find out who they are.

You should really report a finding like this to the police or the FBI. They'd handle something like this way better than some people on a forum. But thanks for notifying us anyway.

I've had a few friends and myself actually receive links like this. I'm not sure where it pulls info from because the name it had for me was not mine so I'm not sure where it pulled my info from. Looking into the links they appear like your average Alibaba Cloud hosted scam links that send you to "get a free iPhone" type pages. So I'm really not sure how much of a genuine risk is posed here but I'm sure it is more than none.

As far as I know, an IP address will only give an approximation of geolocation (unless there's more to it). I'd be curious how true this is, but also recommend forwarding information to the relevant authorities.

Spoiler:
Snitching is bad, but human trafficking is way worse.

Correct.

And It's that of the ISP, not on a personal level.

This should be how you do it. Find an office nearest to your location and fill out a form.

Sometimes the geolocation will even show a different city/state. Main reason I don't find this story plausible. Unless the abductors work at an ISP.
