Coronavirus And The Stock Market - Drako - 02-28-2020 I live in the United States, and over the past few days I've noticed a very alarming drop in the stock market. It's something akin to the 2008 Financial Crisis. Over the course of only three days, the DOW Jones has plummeted 3,000 points. The Coronavirus outbreak is also causing major issues for the manufacturing industry. Since countless products are manufactured in China, the heart of the outbreak, factories are closing left and right to stop the spread of Coronavirus. And that means the prices of everyday products are increasing. And this is all because of a virus no more severe than the Flu. In my eyes, most of us will be fine. Especially young people. Coronavirus only poses a threat to the elderly and people with existing conditions. People shouldn't be so terrified of this outbreak. We have outlived dozens of relentless outbreaks. Including the Black Plague. Don't let the mainstream media get you down! All they want is money and attention. RE: Coronavirus And The Stock Market - zn0 - 02-28-2020 I was actually suprised at how little the media first reported on this, which made me panic a little. My rule of thumb is: when the media tells you to panic you stay calm and when they're quiet you panic.
RE: Coronavirus And The Stock Market - Oni - 02-28-2020 Can't get infected if you don't leave the house.

RE: Coronavirus And The Stock Market - @bcd3 - 03-09-2020 majority of people will be fine, health wise. im worried about peoples reactions though. some people hoarding all the toilet paper and rice and beans. worried about the production of asprin and tylonal. i dont see many people in my business but it is public facing. and our supply chains are mostly us/euro based. their supply chains, however, are probably chinese. im very interested in the crashing of btc. it hasnt lived through a recession yet and even after all the digital gold memes, makes sence people are looking to liquidate assets to cover their asses. bitmain looks like its in trouble. all the chinese miners are panicking. the btc infrastructure might not be able to handle it but the hash rate seems to be doing fine. time will tell... edit: one thing that grinds my gears, oil fell a crazy amount this weekend, but how much do you think the price at the pump is going to drop? 5% over the next month *maybe*? this should be passed on to the consumer, but thats the glory of a monopoly i suppouse RE: Coronavirus And The Stock Market - Drako - 03-11-2020 (03-09-2020, 09:52 PM)@bcd3 Wrote: majority of people will be fine, health wise. im worried about peoples reactions though. some people hoarding all the toilet paper and rice and beans. worried about the production of asprin and tylonal. i dont see many people in my business but it is public facing. and our supply chains are mostly us/euro based. their supply chains, however, are probably chinese. You seem to have the exact damn thoughts I had. I went to Walmart a few hours ago just to check out the madness, and all of the cleaning/sanitation products are gone. I also checked out the gas station and the prices dropped about 20 cents. Most economists have already predicted a recession. And yeah I checked out BTC prices, and they fell off about 2,000 points. So it's not looking good for crypto either. My Aunt and Grandmother are only at risk. My Aunt has a lung condition (she has never smoked). And my Grandmother is in her 80s. People like them are the real people at risk. RE: Coronavirus And The Stock Market - mothered - 03-11-2020 I can't believe the rate at which It's spreading. In my country, It's starting to hit pretty hard. RE: Coronavirus And The Stock Market - Nyx - 03-11-2020 It's spreading very rapidly, quite alarming. I'm confident I can survive through it if it manages to spread to my area, although I fear for the elderly and children in my family. Also, compile this with the recent oil dump from Saudi Arabia and I'm confident the stock market is gonna take a long term hit. Not looking like a great situation. RE: Coronavirus And The Stock Market - newdrip16 - 03-11-2020 Not even people reactions i view as a problem. The hospitalization rate is 20% in the USA that's about 70 million people hospitalized. We've only got 12.5 million hospital beds. The economy is fucked too lol. |
