Do you color calibrate your monitors? Why or why not? - Tracefl0w - 06-23-2019 Just acquired an IPS monitor the other day and I couldn't help but notice how different the colors looked when I set it all up, to my astonishment. At first, I thought it had to do with my vision and age, but that wasn't the case. When I looked at the various viewing angles, this became even more obvious. It really led me to consider monitor calibration after acquiring my new IPS monitor, now I'm on the fence of deciding whether I should calibrate my monitor or not. Has anyone manually calibrated their monitor's color and noticed an appreciable boost in visual quality? Ease of use? Ease of staring at for a long time without getting tired eyes? Any other unexpected benefit that came from it? RE: Do you color calibrate your monitors? Why or why not? - Drako - 06-23-2019 I've never really found it necessary. My monitors usually are fine. I know there is a color correct-ness application but I haven't tried it. RE: Do you color calibrate your monitors? I was looking for software that could do that as well, however you need certain accessories to get a proper calibration. While there are some sites, it's near impossible to make a good monitor calibration using your eyes only. RE: Do you color calibrate your monitors? Why or why not? - Oni - 06-24-2019 Never done any calibration and I don't think my monitors are IPS. That said, I do use Flux as it prevents eyestrain. RE: Do you color calibrate your monitors? Why or why not? - mothered - 06-24-2019 I'm running laptops, and never had the need to calibrate. They're fine at their default state. RE: Do you color calibrate your monitors? Why or why not? - HJDKM - 06-26-2019 Color calibration is worth doing if you could afford it. I never got around to buying a calibrator but I know they typically improve the color of most commercially available monitors! RE: Do you color calibrate your monitors? Why or why not? - ClippySexy - 06-26-2019 All I do with my monitors is set the saturation level to near-max so it looks very colorful. I got so much used to it that whenever I look at a different monitor I feel like I'm colorblind lol. RE: Do you color calibrate your monitors? We've got other options too such as brightness & contrast, how are you able to look at your phone device? To my knowledge there's no option where you can increase saturation amount on a phone. RE: Do you color calibrate your monitors? Why or why not? - vex84th - 07-24-2019 Yeah, I calibrate my monitor to my eyes as I believe that everyone in their own way is different and having a more generalized setting is worse than having them optimized for your eyes. RE: Do you color calibrate your monitors? Why or why not? - audi887 - 10-25-2019 I often calibrate my monitor to make it more whitish blue. i dont like the default version which looks like flaux software |
