Remember that symbol you used to draw (or see other people draw) back in grade school?
Did you ever actually know what it was?
Some people say it was the Suzuki logo (which is what I thought it was). Other people say it was copied from Stussy, graffiti-styled text, and a variety of other things.

I always saw my sister drawing it, but I never did it myself.
I also never knew what it meant.

I used to make things out of it.
Believe it or not, around 6-7 grade I could draw pretty well.
My circlejerk avatar was this guy called hatman. It would be whatever, but it was mainly a skeleton in a hat with yellow lights shooting out of his eyes. He said "I'm the motha fuckin hatman!" in a cool serial killer type of voice.

It isn't/wasn't a gang sign. People like to tag with it these days, but I've yet to come across any gang that uses that tag. The various Surenos gangs( the only gangs that really identify themselves as "south-side" ) don't usually tag with surenos, preferring a more unique name, or the name of their mother cartel.
