It's not going down it's just that I've ran out of time and money to host it. It will be transferred to Oni in 1-2 weeks in which he will decide it's fate.
If there is anything anyone would like to ask about this, just post here, I won't reply for at least 12 hrs [being as I'll be gone for around that time] but when I'm back I will answer any questions. [well not any, the ones I want to answer]
I'm sorry to hear that. It was good whilst it lasted. Hopefully it'll still be managed by the SL community.
What was involved in keeping it online?

I second this question, some details on how it's maintained would be good to know so we can figure out where to go from here. Is ok chilly, thx for your time/service in keeping it running Smile

Simply money and time, I've ran out of both.

I meant, what would I need to do to get it back online?

AH, details too, OKAY, I used a service used http://wavestreaming.com/ due to being too lazy to host it myself, it was around $40/m?? I think, it came with flash players and whatnot so I didn't have to make any of that. Then it was the music, I surf soundcloud for hours on end searching for music to upload to the FTP server https://soundcloud.com/professorchill/likes as you can imagine, this takes tons of time to keep on top of all the genres.
Next came the communities music, now I hate not asking artists if I can upload their music. Some of them take a while to reply, but in the long run, it avoids a lawsuit, they usually all reply in 1 day to 1 week, just a counter measure there, record labels are a bitch in a half to contact, so I usually didn't.
And, that's about it! There wasn't much to it, it just took lots of time.

TLDR; Pay for service, Hunt music down, Upload, Ask for permissions, Play it
I'd be willing to turn it over to someone if they are interested in running it. Obviously some level of professionalism and decent taste in music is necessary.

I essentially needed donations to keep it up, I make nothing out of it, the ads on it go to Oni, to keep it up I need a MINIMUM of $40/m, then I can keep it up all the time, I never expect it or ask for it, and I'm not about to start.

EDIT: I asked once, I know, but that was a moment where I was like "shit, forgot to pay"
did the wavestreaming service help at all regarding music licensing issues? That seems to be a bit of a gray area I feel like. Does internet radio need broadcast rights?
