Has anyone else played Diablo Immortal?

So far it has the worst score on Metacritic, due to microtransactions. The pay-to-win mechanics were an instant turnoff. Better gems cost exponentially more money, but only translate to percentage-based perks. Post-60 gameplay isn't that entertaining, so I'm more so waiting for Diablo 4.

Haven't been playing much asides from dailies, but I managed to get a 5-star gem off crests today. Pretty bizarre, as there's been streamers that spent >$15k to get them.
This game was just a probe to see how far Blizzard would be able to go with microtransactions. Of course, it's currently fighting for the rank of worst game of all time according to user score on Metacritic. But Blizzard doesn't care. Whales still spend thousands of dollars on the game, and that's making them money.

And Diablo IV has already has confirmed microtransactions, but to a lesser extent to Diablo Immortal. But any Diablo game with microtransactions, is not Diablo.

I have very low expectations for the future of the series. D2R for the win.

Activision Blizzard has been diving in the deep end with MTX for awhile now. Somewhere between level tokens on WoW and matchmaking patents they lost touch. Not really opposed to MTX personally, as long as its cosmetic, but spending is pretty much required for PVP in Immortal. After they get done milking the whales the game will be well past dead.

Cosmetic MTX is fair imo, and clearly works as a money maker. MTX is going to be our future I think, but it would be good to promote MTX in a way the players are happy with.
