I would say that if you're engaging in this kind of activities you should be 1 step ahead always, and think carefully every move you make.

Depending on the nature of the hack, It can have serious consequences that're punishable on a federal level.

Just getting Into the back-end without any malicious Intent whatsoever, Is considered a crime.

Please take the above under advisement, Inclusive of everyone on this board.

I've been exploiting for a couple of decades and have experienced a lot (which I cannot discuss) and believe me, It's not a game or anything you should take lightly.

That's a big problem from my point of view because one can find some vulnerability in some website, software, etc. And if you are contacting the company without knowing if they have some bug bounty program there is a small chance they will pay you. Thus the attacker would exploit it for its own benefit.
But this is sometimes good though xD

During my exploitations, I used to contact the companies outlining their vulnerabilities and recommending corrective measures to help fend off future attacks.

The majority that did reply however, threatened litigation. They'd rather have their systems compromised, rather than being Informed.
Try make logic of that.

That's definitely what I was talking about. Most companies didn't even respond.
Like you provide them with an efficient solution to a pretty big problem one company has, and they don't even bother to look into it. Even if you made the job as one of their employees.
Besides that, in most of the cases the solution it's wasting less resources than the consequences that one of such vulnerabilities could generate.

It can be a huge Issue for the company Itself, but the critical Information stored In the customer/user database Is a major cause for concern.

I'm referring to family & given names, date of births, residential addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, parent's full names (as next of kin) usernames & passwords and the list goes on. I'll target a site In the next couple of days that I believe will store this type of data and once I get In, I shall create a thread and post a few screenshots. Just to demonstrate that It was In fact myself that got In, I'll add myself as an administrator or agent- depending on It's database structure. You'll then have a visual of the back-end and how critical It Is.

That's definitely another factor that affects not just the company, but the people who trust the company. This is quite sad, because companies have this responsability to protect users data, and they don't even bother to take action when somebody reports a security problem. Thus the user information end being leaked or sold and they might not even know it.
