what exactly is finding fulfillment in life? 07-20-2016, 02:09 PM

So my first proper post on the forums. I'm a pretty positive guy, I love traveling, meeting new people, doing all sorts of crazy things and extremely driven to become the best at whatever I start doing.
This question I ask is what exactly is fulfillment in life? What do people look for to be truly happy? When I was younger my Dad would always take me up on the roof at new years and we'd have a (small beer (turned to whiskey a touch too young)) and we'd chat about life. I've never idolised someone more than my Dad and I learnt so much from him. As i got older he'd ask me "so then, what have you done this year that you absolutely loved, that you are really proud of or made you smile" I'd then try and reel off all the things I'd done that year. As I got older the list grew and changed and developed and it started becoming a list of things I wanted to achieve the coming 365 days. Looking at your actions in retrospect, for me, is invaluable and has allowed me to really find out what is important in my life. I have a top floor flat in London which I share with my girlfriend. Every new-years day/morning we go up there and we do the same thing me and my Dad used to do and I've never been more happy than this year; I'd travelled to 47 countries in total, I'd started my own business whilst working 40hrs/week in another. I'd rented a flat in London and I'm 23 years old..carrying a positive outlook on life for me is so important and what a difference it makes!
So lets get a discussion going, what do you desire?
