This should've been done a long time ago.

Everyone looks at weed as a form of drug that's detrimental to the body, when In fact It can be beneficial to one's health such as the prevention of epileptic seizures, slowing down Alzheimer's disease, a pain remedy and more.

Good move by Mr Trump.
EDIT: Typo.

I don't think we can give Trump credit for legalizing Weed in Cali, I don't think it was his decision at all. Most of the move towards legalization in the states that have legalized so far happened under Obamas presidency. Even so, Obama authorized a few raids on dispenseries where weed was legal. Most legalization is happening on a state-level so far.

TBH, I'm not totally sure what's going to happen with weed that is currently legalized on a state level. It still remains a Schedule I drug in the US (akin to heroin). Even if Trump said he was going to leave states who legalized marijuana alone, most of the government is now Republican. We don't know what his cabinet will do.

Chris Christie is one of the most anti-weed people in the US right now. If he was never the governer of NJ, and weed laws actually got somewhere, weed might have been legalized with this election there as well. But they weren't even on the ballot this year, mostly because of Christies campaigning against it. He also kisses Trumps ass any chance he can get, Trump treats him like his pet but nevertheless he's going to have influence. Pence (VP) is ultra-conservative too, citing that he's going to fund gay conversion therapy. He is also vehemently against marijuana.

We can only hope that with the current government there is no regression in the progress the country has made with legalizing marijuana.

As for the election of Trump, I only hope that he doesn't totally regress the economy, or destroy the planet enviromentally. I think the environment is the #1 issue we are going to be facing in the next few decades, with many more political issues stemming from it. With someone who doesn't even believe in global warming as president, the outlook is currently bleak.

I would agree with you I think. It's likely that the legalisation of weed has more to do with changing times, and the benefits of taxing it (as tobacco is taxed) that to do with Trump. Not to say he won't make a difference in weed legalisation, but perhaps not yet?

Like I've said before, tackling global warming starts in the lifestyle habits of everyone on the planet. The government will respond to demands of the people, and if people demand products and substances that pollute the world, they're not going to say no. It has been suggested that global warming is passed the tipping point, so perhaps it's time for adaption. Also, climate change was ALWAYS going to happen, just perhaps not this fast without humn influence.

He's got nothing to do with it. Trump's opinion is that it should be up to the states. While it is likely there will be less DEA raids on "legally" owned dispensaries, I don't see him supporting recreational (much less medical) any time soon.

In terms of Trump's accreditation for legalizing weed, I'm just going by what's mentioned In the Initial post of this thread.

I haven't looked Into It's passing of legislation, so I'm glad you've clarified It here.
Thanks for that.
