Like Box said, this could take away some discussions that could be created in topics, therefore decreasing forum activity.

There's already an official Skype group, that's enough in my opinion.

If you want to, go ahead. I don't have an issue with it. As for taking away the forum activity, I don't think that would happen if members on it reminded people to sign up, etc. You can use it as an advertisement features as well.
