Yes it works, saw a tutorial on YT yesterday explaining in detail what and how to setup one.

You don't have to use python to create a HTTP server I prefer apache2. For Apache just run :

service apache2 start
And you will now be hosting a local HTTP server. It will be hosting files in /var/www/html, so just put a file in there called "index.html" and write "Hello, World!" or something in there then go to 127.0.0.1 in your browser on the same computer.
So anyway. After that the rest of the steps are the same as in the link in the article EDIT: Except for where you put your files they should be in /var/www/html

I think the easiest way is

Here is a very nice tutorial. My problem is here the connection over ipv6 - temp. i have no solution
Install it on the RPi, config it and go go
