Some people, like myself, prefer spending time on smaller message-boards because they have a more tight-knit community and everyone tends to be more friendly and approachable. You often encounter a lot of egocentric members on larger communities that turn their noses up at you because you don't have a certain amount of posts and reputation, or you haven't accumulated a certain amount of awards.
If the owner of a message-board is a complete cunt, I'll more than likely make my departure because it's not worth my time contributing to a community and assisting in the board's growth if the owner doesn't show any signs of appreciation and has about as much personality as a brick wall.
