surely we are only in the early stages of AI, and it can already complete every coding task i give it long before i would get it done, surely this type of job software engineer etc will be such a low valued job in the future ?

Hey there,
Sure, AI's got skills, but there's more to software engineering than just typing lines of code. We bring creativity, problem-solving, and a human touch that AI can't match (yet).
AI's shaking things up, but it's more of a sidekick than a superhero. It's here to help us do our thing better, not take over completely.

You could say the same for art or writing. AI still lacks the ability to replicate many things, like emotion or problem solving.

While AI has indeed advanced significantly and can complete many tasks efficiently, including coding, there's still a long way to go before it fully replaces human creativity, intuition, and problem-solving abilities.
As for the future of jobs like software engineering, while some routine tasks may become automated, there will always be a need for human oversight, innovation, and adaptation. Instead of devaluing these professions, AI could potentially enhance them, allowing professionals to focus on more complex and strategic aspects of their work. Additionally, new opportunities may emerge in fields related to AI development, implementation, and regulation. So, while AI is transforming various industries, there will likely always be a place for human expertise and creativity.

im a noob, learning coding for the first two months, most of the time playing with pwnagotchi, making a website and a lof of reading
AI helps me a lot, but at the end of the day it doesen’t help me when I don’t know what’s wrong in the code it gave me, or when the structure of the website starts to build up, or I want to implement some LLM into the website, both me and the AI start to struggle, because I still need some basic knowladge about the things I want the AI to perform
my conclusion, it will always be a huge help for something you know how to do, or a very good help to study and learn, but I wouldnt say that AI can be used by a “regular” person in a same quality as a actual coder can do with his knowladge or/or without the AI, and so on with data and other fields
