From a purely gaming perspective, iOS>Android overall. Because Android is more advanced OS and developers support iOS more than Android since Apple has more customers overall. Still, not by much though and Android is catching up at an amazing rate.

I prefer iOS by far. Cleaner, nicer, and more professional. Sure, it may cost more, but it looks...so beautiful. In all seriousness though, I really love iOS gaming, as it's faster and sleeker than Android gaming by far.

Obviously playing games on an android operating system has its difficulties as there are many different phones with different specifications therefore some games will play better on other phones like playing a game on the HTC One will play a lot better than playing a game on HTC Wildfire. Whereas the iPhone specifications are less varied. However to publish an iPhone App the cost soon racks up and therefore some apps only appear on android. To publish an app on the App store you have to enroll on the development program which is $99 a year. And then there are extra costs and I believe that Apps for iPhone have to be coded on an Mac so you can't do much without a Mac or a Hackintosh. Overall I prefer android due to the availability of apps and cost seen as I am not working atm.
